this has been one weird week for me. the days are flying by...college is pretty much like that...the people are really nice but they all speak chinese! i feel like such a useless lump coz the only few ppl who don't speak chinese are non-chinese...sigh...at least i'm working on my cantonese la. mandarin is a hopeless cause...
the workload is ok considering i'm only taking 2 subs this sem. i've got mid-terms next week, and finals the week after. it's a strange system...anyway, excuse me while i vent. when i first started classes in sedaya, i didn't have a very good impression. their saving grace was mr chin, my writing class lecturer. he never really followed any kind of sylabus but the way he conducted the classes made it interactive and, somewhat, stimulating. i have no idea what kinda scrambled brains the programs' director has but 2 weeks before the end of the semester, he decides to switch lecturers (!??!?!?!??!). WTF!!!????!?!?!?!? actually, mr chin was never supposed to lecture my writing class but coz ms yeoh (the new lecturer) was in hong kong doin some UCSI shit, he 'filled in' for her from the very 1st class up till yesterday. geezzz...there's only another 2 more weeks. let him finish up here la!!! the semester's comin to a close and ms yeoh doesn't even know 1/4 of the class...honestly, i don't give a shit if she ever remembers my face but she can't teach for crackers!!! her classes take me back to a time where i still had to wear pinafores. she makes us read almost every sentence in the textbook. don't even get me started on textbooks!! we're not studying chemistry or law...it's a language!!! u're supposed to use it...if i wanted to pore over an english textbook for 3 hours, i'll buy one. i won't enroll in a 40k degree course. and we're in uni!!! don't mix the english speaking students with foreign ones who can't even put a simple english sentence together! i mean seriously, if i never hear another "mines name ee Jung Rong" in a university-esque writing class, it won't be too soon.
eeeeyarrgghhh....sigh....sorry la, i'm just venting. ms yeoh is actually quite nice but her teaching style just doesn't appeal to me.
anyway, another thing i'm totally cheesed off about is the co-op. see, in sedaya, every yr we get to experience a real working environment in the form of INTERNSHIPS! *woohoo* for 2 mths. i thought it was a really good idea until the day i learnt that i've gotta pay almost 1000 bucks to mr sedaya for those 2 mths coz the co-op is counted as a subject. really la!! that's just too much...how can they expect us to pay them 1000 bucks while we're off working for some company that just so happens to NOT be on campus which means, we won't be using ANY of their facilities or their lecturers. so what the hell are we paying for?????
EEEYAARRGGGGHHHH!!
ok...i'm done complaining.
so, my bro started downloading desperate housewives season 2. *woohoo!* the mystery continues...anyway, speaking of desperate housewives, did u know that john, the gardener, is in a Three Doors Down video? he's cute....*gush*
and i'm starting to download the oc season 3. *double woohoo!* the scandals continue...
ooh! i got to know this guy in my writing class, he's like the epitome of metrosexual men. haha! it's soooo cute to watch him talk bout shopping, fashion, relationships, and gym. btw, he just told me last week that i look slightly korean! *triple woohoo!* so yup, he's one of my favourite guys right now. the saving grace in my writing class. did u know that there are 2 kinds of baths? a major bath and a minor bath. major baths happen as often as once to twice a week; consists of the usual shower and hair wash but includes facials, body scrubs and whatever-nots purifiers, moisturisers, exfoliants, and treatments. a minor bath should be taken at least twice a day, everyday but it can be increased to a frequent 6 times a day.
oklar, i'm done talking. off to watch the oc! i shall leave u with a song
Blur ~ Country House
he lives in a house, a very big house in the country
watching afternoon repeats and the food he eats in the country
he takes all manner of pills and piles up analyst bills in the country
it's like an animal farm, lots of rural charm in the country
in the country, in the country
blow, blow me out. i am so sad, i don't know why

oh my goodness! how cruel can sedaya be!? that's why i never liked sedaya. i remembered a couple of years ago, they had some kinda scandal about something to do with money. can't really recall because it was not worth remembering. hahaha. anyway, it's so bad that they changed your lecturer 2 weeks before the semester ended. evilness i tell you, evilness. grrr.
oh co-op. i'm thinking of taking co-op too over here in lethbridge. probably during the summer. hope something i like comes up. i know last summer (which is the one that just passed), a bio lecturer took about 20 students out to a lake to collect samples. and they get paid! it's like part-time job. anyway, i'm not sure if i'll have to pay like 1k to do co-op here. i'll check it out soon enough.
hoho all the mysteries and scandals you could ever want. in the comfort of your own home. haha.
hey, if you're thinking of studying overseas, you should consider university of lethbridge. i think that sedaya and UofL has some kinda understanding (not sure what kind) because i met a lady who is the canadian representative of sedaya here. so, yeah, you should enquire.
(random stuff: it snowed yesterday! haha well, only for like 4 hours, but it snowed! lol =P)
